Performing this ritual with full knowledge of the mantras is said to be more beneficial than without the knowledge. Several seekers have interest in knowing the meaning of the Mantras. Hence this course is conducted for their benefit.

Teaching the meaning and significance of the mantras related to Sandhya Vandana is carried out with meaning in Sanskrit and Telugu.

Subject & Significance of Sandhya Vandana :

The Vedas,the holy scriptures of sanatana dharma, describe the power of prayers to the Goddess Sandhya during the three times of morning, afternoon and evening. The mantras of sandhya vandana are highly complex and hence were commented by great Acharyas for our benefit.

The word Sandhya has got several meanings, which include, i) the time of dawn, in the morning,( which is called “udaya sandhya”), ii) the time of dusk, in the evening, (which is called “saayam sandhya”), iii) one name of parabrahma, when referred to in the context of time; iv) joint between two segments of yugaas, kalpaas, etc,

It was ordained in the Vedas that every person who had the instruction of Gayatri Mantra, has to perform the ritual of Sandhya vandana and offer prayers in all the three time slots of the day. The process begins with chanting of few holy names of the Supreme Lord of the Universe. It is mentioned that this makes a man rid of his impurities and sins, at the body level, mind level and soul (Jeeva) level.

The process also involves practice and performance of Praanaayaama, a part of yoga, in a subtle way.

It also involves meditation on Goddess Gaayatri and on the meaning of the related mantra. Finally offering prayer to sun god, the source of our life in the universe, is an essential part.

Thus sandhya vandana makes oneself perfectly pure in all three forms, makes him to realize that he is no way different from the cosmic form of the Lord of the universe, and ultimately reminds the performer to express his gratitude to Him for the excellent opportunity given to receive the best of the wealth in the universe, that is Atma Jnana.
